Christmas in Middleburg VAIf you and your family are looking to jump into the Christmas spirit this year you should go check out Christmas in Middleburg in Loudoun County.  The event takes place December 2nd through the 4th and will have lots of activities and entertainment to kick off the Christmas season.  Middleburg’s beautiful 18th century village is the best destination for the festival and gives the perfect opportunity to create a Christmas experience like no other.

Special Information

Middleburg is just a 45-minute drive from Washington DC and close to the Dulles International Airport.  Parking is $20 per car and you can order a parking pass on the Christmas in Middleburg website.  A shuttle service will also be available during the festival and more public safety officials will be assisting in traffic management.

Friday, December 2nd

Friday night, the event will kick off with the tree lighting ceremony.  The heartfelt program includes hot chocolate and hot apple cider, caroling, and of course the lighting of the Christmas tree.  The ceremony will be held behind the Pink Box, 12 North Madison Street at 5pm.


Saturday, December 3rd

If you can only make it one day to Christmas in Middleburg, Saturday would be the best day.  The day is full of fun events and entertainment that’s great for the whole family.  The events include breakfast with Santa, a silent auction, hayrides, a craft fair, and a Christmas parade.  This day also includes special events like Middleburg Hunt & Hounds Review and Spirits of Middleburg.  The Middleburg Hunt includes riders on horseback and a pack of hounds coming down the main street, which has turned out to be an iconic moment for the festival.  The Spirits of Middleburg includes progressive food, wine tastings, ciders, and distilled spirits at establishments from one end of town to the other.


Sunday, December 4th

The last day of the festival includes the Live Animal Christmas Pageant and Loudoun Ballet’s Nutcracker Tea Party.  The Christmas Pageant will be held at Foxcroft School, Englehard Gymnasium at 2pm.  Admission is free for the event, and the pageant is a hundred-year-old tradition.  Loudoun Ballet’s Nutcracker will also be help at 2pm at Salamander Resort. Tickets for adults are $61 and children 12 and under are $49.
